Is there a nurse in the house??? and a call for grilling recipes
So I took the Anchors for a long bike ride today, at the end of the trail there is a steep hill, as I was going up the hill my chain fell off and I was clipped to my pedals (I wear shmancy cycling shoes) and I went down like a tonne of bricks and now I have an awesome case of road rash on my knee. Big Lucy WAAAAHHHHHHHHH. AND ITS GARDENING SEASON!!! How can I kneel in my garden when there isn't any skin on my knee? There was a nice stone under the skin too; I remember when I took my motorcycle course, the instructor said that with all the medical advances, the treatment of roadrash was they gave you a brush and put you in a room all by yourself to scrape the gravel out. OUCH. I figured that further abrasion = further trauma, so I used a syringe that I had and just flushed the little stone out. I was amazed to see the thing shoot out, COOL! I would have preferred someone else do it for me though, but alas, there isn't a nurse in the house, oh yeah, there is a STUDENT nurse, ME.
I have been doing some recipe experiments for summer grilling. Tonight's menu consists of grilled tuna steaks with this awesome sauce that I made, it goes like this 1/2 cup mayonaise, 2 teaspoons of soy sauce, 1 teaspoon of wasabi and 1 teaspoon fresh ginger. I am chilling it and I will put a scoop of it on the steaks after they are grilled. Then we are having rosemary potatoes and I am going to try grilled asparagus. Never tried it but I am going to tonight. Any good grilling recipes? Because we entertain most of the summer at the cottage and because the kitchen is so small I do almost all the cooking on the bbq so I am always looking for new recipes.
Hope everyone's weekend went well and was road rash free. Thanks for reading.
