Nurse Betty BScN (cand): Its a major award!!

Nurse Betty BScN (cand)

I am a 36 year old mother of 2. I entered university in 2005 for the BScN program but had no idea what a roller coaster ride it would be. My other interests are boating, cottaging, gardening, sitting, doing nothing, vegging and of course hard core belly button contemplating.

Its a major award!!

Any fans of the Christmas Story out there? when the dad wins the "major award" which turns out to be a great big lamp in shape of a fishnet clad leg (if I knew how to insert pics I would do so here) I love that movie and that line and any time anyone in our house wins anything we say it, it is usually the husband or the anchors though who say it, never Mommy because well I don't ever do anything to merit an award actually (and I'm okay with that). Well today I got a letter in the mail that had me saying "Its a major award". I was awarded the Leadership award from my faculty of nursing. Its funny because I spent the year suppressing any urge to lead, opting for trying to be a good group member instead and then they go and give me an award for Leadership. I am very proud and embarassed at the same time. I don't know why. Oh well, its cool that they give awards for bossing people around.

So I decided that I would come up with my own topic for the pop culture essay (although I do agree, Breakfast Club is the ultimate class movie). My title is "why do we love Tony?" Why, even though Tony Soprano is the bad guy, a killer, a gangster, etc. do we find ourselves rooting for him? I know he is conflicted etc. but still there has to be more to it than that. I'll get back to you when I figure it out.

Thanks for reading, and have a great day

ITS A MAJOR AWARD!!! (not the Dean's list but still, yay me)

It sure would be easier on something like a John Waters film for example:
which is really trying to say something in a roundabout way. Sounds like a fun assignment...a nice breather from Potter, right?

Congrats on the awards!

I totally agree Hairspray would be a totally brilliant study of class. I am hoping to wow this guy and get a huge grade which will drive my gpa up.
Thanks for visiting
