Nurse Betty BScN (cand): Keep on Truckin'

Nurse Betty BScN (cand)

I am a 36 year old mother of 2. I entered university in 2005 for the BScN program but had no idea what a roller coaster ride it would be. My other interests are boating, cottaging, gardening, sitting, doing nothing, vegging and of course hard core belly button contemplating.

Keep on Truckin'

So the midterms went okay (I think). The pop culture one was so specific, it asked questions based only on the readings and absolutely nothing from lectures, thank goodness I did (most of) the readings. I have also gotten really good at answering multiple choice exams. I go evaluate the choices and of course if ever there is ever 1 out of 4 that is completely different then the others well then clearly that is the answser. Whenever I have two possible answers I always choose c and I never automatically choose all of the above even though I really really want to. The other soc exam was very good, it was very reflective of everything we spoke of in lectures and of the readings, so I think I will be okay there too.

So now I am doing research for the essays, I have to submit an outline June 1st for the pop culture one (Sopranos) and the other one (gender inequality) is due June 5th. I am looking for any and all input into the gender inequality one and am asking the question "Why do we ascribe a preconceived set of notions to an individual based upon gender?" I am going to speak of the lack of female politicians and the lack of men in caring professions. Any other ideas? I'm all ears.

So the half dead Wonder Dog has developed an increasingly interesting aroma, thank goodness that it has become warm enough to have the windows open. I am also calling out to any remedies for smelly dog syndrome within the household.

I finally got to see the season finale of er. Yeah, Celestial, I'll agree with you, it wasn't that earth shattering, but it was very sad. While I never really bought the whole Neela/Gallant thing she did do a really good job with the water works in this finale. The "cliffhanger" aspect of the show was not too too grand. So you have Luka with a tube down his throat, tied to a gurney, what do they want us to believe that no one will ever go into that room and find him? And yes Abby is bleeding all over the place but, someone will find her too. And where better than a hospital to be pregnant and bleeding all over the place. Either I am tired of er or it hit me on a bad night. I did love that song though even if they did copy cat Grey's who copy catted Sopranos for always ending with a very apropos song.

Well that's it for now, sorry its so boring. Thanks for reading.

I missed the er season finale. I used to love the re-runs on cable when I was taking my pre-rec.s for N school. I don't know why I don't care so much for it now. I do like Neela though - but her story lines frustrate me.

Good luck with the essays - sounds like some fun ideas. Waiter jobs run along gender lines sometimes. Ever notice how the super swank places have male waiters while cheapy diners have women? The nicer the place, the nicer the tips, the more likely the waiter is male.
