Nurse Betty BScN (cand): Me Lacrosse coach???

Nurse Betty BScN (cand)

I am a 36 year old mother of 2. I entered university in 2005 for the BScN program but had no idea what a roller coaster ride it would be. My other interests are boating, cottaging, gardening, sitting, doing nothing, vegging and of course hard core belly button contemplating.

Me Lacrosse coach???

It is late Wednesday night and I have added another first to my life's list. Lacrosse coach. Well not really. You see, the Husband had to work tonight and there was an unscheduled (make-up) game so I went in his place. There I was in the box with the team, screaming my head off, "sticks up" "home - go home" "pass it, pass it" "nice save" and my personal fave "Ah, c'mon ref, do you need glasses?" Needless to say, my throat is raw as hamburger. I don't have one ounce of the ability that The Husband has in the box though, he is amazing with those kids and they just eat him up. Boy Anchor was pretty cool about having his Mum in the box with him (I think). The Husband has to work tomorrow night too and it is the first game of play offs so guess what, I'm in again. It was funny, because usually when the kids get hurt all the dads just tell them to walk it off, or suck it up. There I was, icing the knees, palpating the neck (that got hit by a ball) and checking on the twisted ankles, and why you ask? because I am Betty BScN (cand).

Anyways, it was fun. I just wish I had a clue what I was doing. Maybe I'll get the real coach (husband) to give me some pointers

; )

P.S. I am obviously a computer ignoramus because for the life of me I cannot get my poor little blog to have a links page. I did what they told me to do and I still can't seem to figure it out. I have been trying and trying honest I have. And when I do, what is the etiquette? do I put a link to whomever I enjoy reading or should I ask permission first? Remember I am extremely new to blogging.

People who blog clearly are sharing their blogs and themselves "out there." If I want to link I say (like I am to you RIGHT NOW!), "Hey, hi, I like your blog. I'm going to link to you. Hope you'll return the favor." If I discover accidentally, as happens occasionally that someone has linked to me I think back and thank them. Some bloggers don't do any links. I link to a few of those, but generally if I link them someone I really like their blog (whether or not they link to me) or they link to me. I can't possibly read all the blogs I link to on a daily basis...but several are blogs I catch up on if I can't read for a few days.

Thank You, and if and when I ever figure out how to do so I will be linking you because I really like your blog. Women's health particularly childbirth and lactation is what brought me to nursing so you are right up my alley.

Hi Betty! Thank you so much for your clever advice! For some odd reason, I never considered having my children help out. Perhaps because I thought they're too young, but I mentioned yours and Katie's suggestions and my sister-in-law agreed with getting my kids involved. So, I will give it a try! Also, do buy frozen meals (actually hubby did) and everyone loves it! My hubby just accepted a management position (perfect timing...hear the sarcasm?) so now I feel like a single mom on the days he works.
Where do you study? Home or the library? And, how do you keep you kids entertained???

Thanks so much! Also, I usually don't ask permission to link other blogs...I just list them as my favorites, but I guess it would be polite to ask permission? But like you, I am new to all of this!
Take care...

Link away. I can't help with any computer questions. Despite my dubious qualifications as a nursing student, the only class I've ever dropped in my life was Intro to Microcomputers.
