Nurse Betty BScN (cand): YEEEOOOUUUUCH!

Nurse Betty BScN (cand)

I am a 36 year old mother of 2. I entered university in 2005 for the BScN program but had no idea what a roller coaster ride it would be. My other interests are boating, cottaging, gardening, sitting, doing nothing, vegging and of course hard core belly button contemplating.

What do you get when you put a hammer into Betty's hands? One big ugly purple finger, that's what. While laying new floor at the cottage this weekend with The Husband, I smashed my finger with a hammer and now it is a painful throbbing sausage. I have been trying to work up the courage to pierce the nail to release some of the pressure. Wish me luck.

I heated a safety pin up and burned a hole in the nail, blood spurted out like a geiser. It still hurts but not as much. Now there is a little hole that lets the blood out from time to time. It is a real pretty sight.

Oh geez! I feel for you. Hope there weren't a lot of people there to witness it.

My wife and I were once in a production of "Jesus Christ Superstar" where I played a Roman guard. We used heavy mallets in the scene of nailing Jesus to the cross. Well... opening night my HUGE helm fell down over my eyes on the 3rd to 4th swing... and I crucified my thumb!!!

Sucker locked open like a cabinet latch and I had to pull it up (like you do with a jammed finger) in order to bend it!

Doing stuff like that sucks. Doing stuff like that in front of an audience is comical... after the swelling goes down.
